About Us

Dr. Smita Kargutkar completed her MBBS at the prestigious 

Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai before moving to the United States. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey and went on to serve as the inaugural fellow in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following her fellowship, she returned to Monmouth County and practiced with the 

Barnabas Health Medical Group for three years.

Drawing inspiration from India's deep history of Ayurvedic and holistic healing traditions, Dr. Kargutkar recognized the limitations of conventional Western care and founded her independent endocrinology practice in 2016. To provide truly integrative care, she completed advanced fellowships with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Double board-certified in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she is also extensively trained in Obesity Medicine. Through individualized, non-surgical medical programs, she has successfully guided hundreds of patients

 to lose between 15 and 135 pounds.

Beyond her U.S. practice, Dr. Kargutkar maintains an active medical license in Maharashtra, India, where she treats indigent patients and teaches medical residents at BKL Walavalkar Rural Charitable Hospital. Locally, she mentors PA students, Bursing students, medical students, internal medicine residents, and endocrinology fellows, and volunteers at the Parker Clinic in Red Bank to provide free care to uninsured individuals. By blending Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Holistic and Functional medicine, Dr. Kargutkar delivers comprehensive care focused on root-cause healing, and will soon be introducing dedicated healing meditation classes for her patients starting in April 2027 in Bells Works Holmdel.
