Dr. Smita Kargutkar completed her MBBS ( Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery ) from prestigious Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai. After moving to USA she completed her residency in Internal Medicine in Monmouth Medical Center, NJ. She then became the first fellow in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. After completing her fellowship she moved back to Monmouth County and worked with Barnabas Health Medical group for 3 years. Being from India which has a 10,000 year history for Ayurvedic and Holistic medicine she started noticing the limitations of traditional Western medicine. So Dr. Kargutkar started her own Endocrinology practice in 2016. She furthered her knowledge of Integrative and Functional Medicine with fellowships from The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Dr. Kargutkar is double Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism from American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also trained in Obesity Medicine and has helped hundreds of patients to lose anywhere from 15 Lbs. to 135 Lbs successfully medically without Bariatric Surgery. She also holds an active Medical License in Maharashtra, India where she is affiliated with BKL Walavalkar rural charitable hospital to treat poor patients and teaches Medicine residents. Dr. Kargutkar mentors PA Students, Medical Students, Internal Medicine Residents and Endocrinology Fellows. She is affiliated with Parker clinic in Red Bank which provides free medical treatment to patients who don't have health insurance. Dr. Kargutkar focuses on combining Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Holistic Medicine to bring Best results for her patients.
